Every effort helps and our community really showed up to support leave no trace initiatives. Participants received an event t-shirt and a post cleanup pancake breakfast free of charge at The Crab Trap in Fort Walton Beach, The Crab Trap in Destin, and The Surf Hut restaurants.

By the numbers:

• 544 volunteers across 6 area beaches

• 750 lbs of trash removed

• 8,000 cigarette butts collected

• Other than cigarette butts, most common items cleaned included: bottle caps, plastic straws and plastic wrappers.

Visit to learn about upcoming cleanup events, resources for hosting community cleanups and the little things we can do on a daily basis to make a big impact like... clean up after ourselves secure trash from falling out onto roadways, recycling right and flattening out holes & sandcastles to protect nesting sea turtles and other marine life.
