Earth Day Beach Cleanup Scheduled for April 24!

In collaboration with Okaloosa County, the Destin-Fort Walton Beach Tourist Development Department, and Walton County will host its annual Earth Day Beach Clean Up on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 5 locations along the Emerald Coast: The Boardwalk on Okaloosa Island, FWB; Norriego Point, Destin; Mattie Kelly Park, Destin; Henderson Beach State Park, Destin; The Crab Trap, Destin; and The Surf Hut, Miramar Beach.

This family-friendly event starts at 8:00 am and runs until 10:00 am. Free event t-shirts will be provided at each location on a limited basis. Enjoy Earth Day activities and fun, including a prize for the most cigarette butts collected! Following the beach cleanup, select locations will be providing a complimentary pancake breakfast to registered clean-up volunteers.
What do you need to bring?
Help us conserve and reduce additional waste and B.Y.O.B (Bring Your Own Bucket), & cleanup equipment:
· Bucket or mesh bag for debris
· Reusable hand gloves or garden gloves (or trash pickers!)
· Reusable water bottle
Don't forget to protect yourself with sunscreen and sunglasses!
Water dispenser and hand sanitizers will be available.
